Status On trial. She has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her three children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan Clancy. Prosecutors dropped three duplicative strangulation counts on July 9. She is presumed innocent unless and until a jury says otherwise.
Jury selection ran July 20 to July 23 before Judge William F. Sullivan and produced an 18-juror panel — 12 jurors and 6 alternates. Opening statements were delivered July 27. Through August 7, the prosecution was still presenting evidence and witnesses, while the defense maintained that Clancy was not criminally responsible because of postpartum psychosis. The trial remains underway; no verdict has been returned.

Status Charged with second-degree murder in the April 3, 2022 stabbing death of Christian Obumseli. Her attorneys say a plea agreement has been reached, but the court has not yet accepted a plea and the agreement’s terms have not been made public. Until the hearing changes the record, the charge remains pending and Clenney remains presumed innocent.
Clenney is scheduled to appear before Judge Andrea Ricker Wolfson on August 10 for the reported agreement to be presented in court. A lawyer’s announcement that an agreement exists is not the same as a plea accepted by a judge. The calendar will be updated after the hearing with the exact offense, disposition, and sentence or sentencing terms stated on the record.

Murder trial — jury selection
Mario Fernandez Saldana — Jared Bridegan case
Duval County Circuit Court, Jacksonville, FL
Status Charged with first-degree murder and solicitation to commit a capital felony in the February 2022 killing of Jared Bridegan. Prosecutors dropped conspiracy and child-abuse charges on July 27. Fernandez Saldana has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent unless and until proved guilty in court.
Jury selection is scheduled for August 10, with trial set for August 17 through August 28. Fernandez Saldana is the first of three defendants scheduled for separate trials in what prosecutors allege was a murder-for-hire plot. Judge London Kite finalized the juror questionnaire and ruled on remaining evidentiary motions on August 4, including blocking testimony from two prosecution witnesses. The schedule and the evidence ultimately presented to jurors can still change, so confirm with the clerk before attending.

Duane “Keffe D” Davis — Tupac Shakur murder case
Eighth Judicial District Court, Clark County, Las Vegas, NV
Status Charged with one count of murder with use of a deadly weapon with a gang enhancement in the September 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur. Davis has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent unless and until proved guilty in court.
Jury selection is scheduled to begin August 10 before District Judge Carli Kierny, nearly 30 years after Shakur was fatally shot in Las Vegas. Prosecutors allege Davis orchestrated the attack and supplied the weapon; the defense disputes the State’s case and the use of his past statements. Recent pretrial rulings allowed prosecutors to use a 2008 police interview. Current reporting says the trial is expected to last about four weeks. The scheduled start can still move, so confirm with the court before attending.

Lake County Circuit Court, 19th Judicial Circuit, Waukegan, IL
Status Charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter, a Class 3 felony, in the 2001 death of her newborn son, known for 25 years as Baby Jacob Hope. Released from custody with conditions. She is presumed innocent unless and until a jury says otherwise.
The infant was found on August 26, 2001, in a bag in a dumpster behind a Rollins Road grocery store in Round Lake Beach; an autopsy found he was born alive. Round Lake Beach police reopened the case in early 2024 and submitted his DNA for testing, which led investigators to Lebron. The baby’s father is not suspected of wrongdoing. At the July 15 first appearance the State filed no petition to detain, and Judge Randie K. Bruno released her on Level 4 pretrial monitoring with a curfew, a bar on drugs and alcohol with random testing, and no driving without a valid license. The August 12 setting is to confirm whether she has retained private counsel.

Pretrial hearing on DNA testing and evidence motions
Alex Murdaugh — Maggie and Paul Murdaugh retrial
South Carolina Court of General Sessions, Lexington, SC
Status Awaiting retrial on two murder charges after the South Carolina Supreme Court overturned his 2023 convictions. The reversal is not an acquittal. Murdaugh has pleaded not guilty and remains incarcerated on separate financial-crime sentences.
The defense seeks independent testing of DNA recovered from beneath Maggie Murdaugh’s fingernails, and the August 14 hearing is the next scheduled pretrial setting. Judge Debra R. McCaslin has tentatively set the retrial for April 5, 2027. The hearing may address testing and other evidence motions; it does not decide guilt.

On July 7 his appellate team filed a motion for new trial and a verified motion to recuse the trial judge, John Roach Jr. Under Texas practice a recusal motion goes to a regional administrative judge, who on July 14 signed an order assigning Senior Judge Sid L. Harle to hear it. The hearing is open to the public and is expected to run about half a day.

Yolo County Superior Court, Department 14, Woodland, CA
Status Found not guilty by reason of insanity on July 22, 2026 after a jury convicted him of two counts of involuntary manslaughter and acquitted him of murder and attempted murder. The August 19 proceeding concerns the judgment and state-hospital commitment process, not a murder sentence.
Judge Samuel T. McAdam ruled that Dominguez was legally insane at the time of the attacks and ordered a state-hospital placement evaluation. A status hearing occurred August 5; the next published setting remains August 19 at 1:30 p.m. Reporting describes that date as sentencing, while the legal consequence of the insanity finding is commitment rather than an ordinary prison term.

This setting is expected to take at least a full day. Which judge hears it depends in part on the outcome of the recusal hearing the day before. The Collin County District Attorney has said transcripts of private hearings contradict a trial-counsel affidavit filed in support of the motion; the defense disputes that. The county has said a redacted testimony transcript will be available on or before August 7, 2026.
Status Indicted June 29, 2026, on one count of murder; pleaded not guilty at arraignment on June 30. Released on $100,000 surety with $10,000 cash posted, and surrendered her passport. No trial date set. She is presumed innocent unless and until a jury says otherwise.
The 1985 Mansfield newborn case — known for four decades as Baby Boy Doe, or the Mansfield Baby Boy Doe case — was reopened using forensic genetic genealogy. Two outlets that reviewed the court file, The Boston Globe and the Fall River Reporter, both report an August 31 pretrial conference. One broadcast report instead said she was due back in December. We publish the August 31 date because it is the one attributed to the court papers, and we are flagging the disagreement rather than hiding it. Call the clerk before you travel.

Status Held to answer, and still presumed innocent. He pleaded not guilty on April 20, 2026 to one count each of murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. On July 27, 2026, at the close of the preliminary hearing, Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo held him to answer on all charges and upheld all three special-circumstance allegations — lying in wait, murder for financial gain, and murder of a witness. He is held without bail. Being held to answer is not a conviction and decides no one’s guilt; it means only that a judge found enough evidence for the case to proceed. He is presumed innocent unless and until proved guilty in court.
The preliminary hearing ran five days, July 21 to July 27, 2026, before Judge Olmedo in Department 105. On the final day prosecutors rested, the defense called no witnesses and asked the court to dismiss, and the judge denied that motion from the bench, saying the People had met their burden of proof including the special circumstances. The case now moves to arraignment on the information, set for August 31, 2026; the department for that setting has not been published. No trial date has been set, and reported estimates of how soon a trial would follow the arraignment differ. The Los Angeles County District Attorney has said the decision on whether to seek the death penalty will be made later. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was 14 years old; we do not republish the evidentiary detail from this hearing.

Status Pleaded guilty June 23, 2026, to four felonies — cybercrime, first-degree perjury, attempt to influence a public servant, and forgery — with a stipulated prison sentence of 8 to 16 years; roughly 100 remaining counts were dismissed.
The former Colorado Bureau of Investigation DNA analyst admitted manipulating data across years of casework, including in more than 30 sexual-assault cases. Sentencing before Judge Andrew Poland begins at 8:30 a.m. MT, with a full day set aside for victim statements. A presentence investigation report was ordered at the plea hearing, and she remains on bond until sentencing.

Status Charged with first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping, destruction of evidence, and a persistent-violator enhancement in the disappearance and presumed death of five-year-old Michael Vaughan. Wondra has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent unless proved guilty.
Judge Brent Whiting granted the defense request to continue the September 2026 trial after Wondra waived speedy trial. The next reported setting is a September 15 scheduling hearing. The jury trial is now scheduled to begin March 29, 2027, with up to seven weeks reserved. Michael’s remains have not been found.

Status Charged with first-degree murder, first-degree rape, first-degree sexual offense, and first-degree burglary in the September 2012 killing of Faith Hedgepeth, a 19-year-old UNC student and member of the Haliwa-Saponi tribal community. Status Convicted of first-degree murder on July 9, 2026, in the killing of his wife, Maya “May” Millete, who disappeared from Chula Vista on January 7, 2021. On July 20 he pleaded guilty to a separate felony count of possessing an unregistered assault weapon. Sentencing on both counts is set for September 29.
The murder count carries 25 years to life. The weapon count, which had been bifurcated and was headed for a bench trial, was resolved by guilty plea on July 20 with no agreement on the term; it carries a maximum of three years. Judge Enrique Camarena set the sentencing date in open court that day and victim impact statements are expected.

We list this because it is the only proceeding connected to the University of Idaho murders that currently has a court-ordered date. The court entered a scheduling order on June 1, 2026 setting a 20-day jury trial to begin September 13, 2027 at 9:30 a.m. in Courtroom 16106; the case was reassigned to Judge Brian A. Tsuchida on the parties’ consent on June 12, 2026. Civil trial dates set more than a year out move often. On July 23, 2025 Judge Steven Hippler imposed four consecutive fixed life terms without the possibility of parole, plus a consecutive 10-year term on the burglary count. The plea agreement contained a waiver of his right to appeal.
The criminal case has been closed since sentencing, and the official Idaho court file shows no future hearing set. Separately, a federal civil suit brought by the Goncalves family against Washington State University does have a trial date — it is listed above, and Kohberger is not a defendant in it.

Michelle Hadley was never convicted of anything. She was arrested in Orange County, California in 2016 after online posts and threats were falsely attributed to her, and she spent time in custody before being released on her own recognizance in October 2016. The Orange County District Attorney concluded she had been framed, and the charges against her were dismissed in January 2017. She appears on this calendar as a cleared person, not as a defendant.
The people who framed her were prosecuted. Angela Diaz pleaded guilty in Orange County Superior Court and was sentenced on October 18, 2017 to five years in state prison. Ian Diaz, a former deputy U.S. marshal, was convicted by a federal jury on March 23, 2023 of conspiracy to commit cyberstalking, cyberstalking, perjury and obstruction, and was sentenced on June 30, 2023 to 121 months in prison. A motion by Ian Diaz to vacate his sentence under 28 U.S.C. § 2255 was filed on February 23, 2026 and is still pending before Judge Josephine L. Staton; the docket shows activity through July 2026, but the filings themselves are not publicly readable and no hearing date appears on the public record. The Netflix documentary A Toxic Love Story was released July 22, 2026. A documentary is not a court proceeding and does not change anyone’s legal status.

Sullivan and produced an 18-juror panel — 12 jurors and 6 alternates. Opening statements were delivered July 27. Through August 7, the prosecution was still presenting evidence and witnesses, while the defense maintained that Clancy was not criminally responsible because of postpartum psychosis. The trial remains underway; no verdict has been returned.
When is Courtney Clenney’s plea hearing?
Monday, August 10, 2026 (start time not published) at Miami-Dade County Circuit Court, Miami, FL. Charged with second-degree murder in the April 3, 2022 stabbing death of Christian Obumseli. On July 2, 2025 he pleaded guilty to one count of burglary and four counts of first-degree murder in the November 13, 2022 deaths of University of Idaho students Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin. On July 23, 2025 Judge Steven Hippler imposed four consecutive fixed life terms without the possibility of parole, plus a consecutive 10-year term on the burglary count. The plea agreement contained a waiver of his right to appeal. The criminal case has been closed since sentencing, and the official Idaho court file shows no future hearing set. Separately, a federal civil suit brought by the Goncalves family against Washington State University does have a trial date — it is listed above, and Kohberger is not a defendant in it.

Michelle Hadley was never convicted of anything.
